Professional Diving Services have recently completed their external accreditation for their Integrated Management System. This includes Quality, Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Systems.

Professional Diving Services address safety in the work place as its highest priority. Professional Diving Services have been at the forefront of safety in working in the marine environment and is committed to developing the safest system of work that can be achieved. This was highlighted when Professional Diving Services delivered inspectorate training programs for Worksafe Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland for Work Safe Inspectors including Senior Victorian Diving Inspectors. This program allowed the inspectors to gain knowledge of the occupational diving industry and the Standards, Codes of Practice and Regulations that govern it.

At the beginning of 2013 Professional Diving Services conducted a major review of its Occupational Diving Operations Manual, incorporating many new international requirements. This has seen our onshore diving operations exceed Australian Standards as a result of additional requirements introduced including voice recording of all diving operations, competency matrix for all diving tasks and increased minimum crew size requirements for high-risk works. The manual that governs our work is a working document which is continually reviewed and updated to exceed industry standards.

Professional Diving Services have our systems audited externally on an annual basis by Shell Diving Centre of Excellence, Lloyds of London, American Bureau of Shipping, Bureau Veritas, GL, SAI Global, Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme and numerous clients including Melbourne Water, FHE, Thiess, Woods Group PSN, MacDow and Baulderstone to mention a few.

In 2013 Professional Diving Services applied for occupational diving approval by Shell International which is considered by industry to be the strictest and highest level of recognition for occupational diving operations that can be achieved worldwide. Professional Diving Services were audited and reviewed by Shell International Diving Centre of Excellence and passed with a commendation, being the first onshore diving company to meet Shell’s standards, not only in Australia but in the World. This certification is still in place and sees regular checks and audits of our safety systems.
